JUNE'S ROSE OF THE MONTH Just in case you may wonder what gets a particular rose the special designation of "Rose of the Month," it's whichever one I have that has a great bloom and the picture comes out good. That's real scientific isn't it? They are all beautiful in their own special way and there are too many for me to cover in my life time. If you have a special rose you would like to get info on I'll put it out on the internet and get the info for you if I don't have personal experience with it.
Hybrid Tea, color class-light pink, ARS rated 8.9, parentage-Ophelia x K. of K., hybridized in 1925, single, large flower, 5 petals.
Dainty Bess is one of the higher rated roses. A well developed bloom can be striking with its very distinct maroon stamens. It's biggest fault is that it's petals tend to drop fast after one or two days in hot weather.
