Just in case you may wonder what gets a particular rose the special designation of "Rose of the Month," it's whichever one I have that has a great bloom and the picture comes out good. That's real scientific isn't it? They are all beautiful in their own special way and there are too many for me to cover in my life time.

If you have a special rose you would like to get info on I'll put it out on the internet and get the info for you if I don't have personal experience with it.

OCTOBER'S ROSE

Pristine

Hybrid Tea, color classification - white, hybridized in 1978, ARS rating -9.1
parentage - White Masterpiece x First Prize; bud - long, flowers - near
white, shaded light pink, double (28 petals), large (5-6"); slightly
fragrant: foliage very large, dark; upright growth.

A 9.1 rating is darn near perfect. The bush is tall and upright with strong canes. Mine usually gets 6-7 feet tall. It seems like every bloom is of exhibition quality.
The roses open slowly and stay on the bush a long time. Pristine almost always sets buds one to a stem. It usually has some flowers on it all the time and with my fertilizing and spray program it repeats quickly. The color is exquisite, white, shaded a light pink. Mine is 5 years old and with my normal protection it winters well. This is one that even the amateur rose grower could win Queen of Show with.
